Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit Web3 Listicle at https://web3listicle.io, who collects it, and what you can do about it. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

You can read everything on this site without creating an account or giving us your name or email address. The site has no sign-up, comment, newsletter or contact forms.

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. We use that only to reply to you and deal with your request, such as a correction. We never sell it or share it for marketing.

What happens when you load a page

The site is made of static pages, and loading them involves three outside services. Each one receives the technical data your browser sends with any web request, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the address of the page you are viewing.

  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes this data to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks and abuse, and it may set strictly necessary security cookies for that purpose. Cloudflare may also give us aggregate traffic figures, such as page views and visitors' countries, that do not identify individual visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Fonts. The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Google's privacy policy.
  • Advertising. Pages show banner ads from A-ADS, a crypto advertising network. The ads load in frames served from a-ads.com, so your browser connects to A-ADS directly and sends it the data described above, including the address of the page showing the ad. What A-ADS collects and how it uses it is set out in the A-ADS privacy policy.

The site does not run analytics or tracking scripts of its own, and A-ADS is currently the only ad network on it.

Cookies and local storage

The site's own code does not set cookies. It saves one setting in your browser's local storage: whether you chose the light or dark theme. That value stays on your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Cloudflare and A-ADS may set their own cookies under their own policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the articles will still load and read normally.

Site search runs inside your browser against a file of article titles, descriptions and tags. Your search terms are not sent to us.

The share buttons on articles are plain links to X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Pinterest and email. Nothing loads from those services until you click one.

This policy covers only this site. Once you follow a link to another website, including the sources linked in our articles, that site's own privacy policy applies. We recommend reading the policies of any third-party service you use through our site, which also explain how to opt out of their data collection.

Donations

If you send cryptocurrency to one of the addresses on our Support page, the transaction is recorded on a public blockchain, as all such transactions are. We do not ask donors for any other information.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • run, maintain and secure the site
  • understand, in aggregate, which pages people read
  • reply to messages and handle correction requests
  • meet our legal obligations

We do not sell, trade or rent anyone's personal information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of sending or storing data over the internet is completely secure, though, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's information

This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will promptly delete it from our records.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to some kinds of processing. To use any of these rights for information we hold, such as emails you sent us, contact us at the address below. For data handled by Cloudflare, Google or A-ADS, their privacy policies explain how to make a request to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date, so please check back now and then.

Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle data, use our Contact page or email editor@web3listicle.io.
